The environmental impacts of the abandoned, open-cast sulphide mine of North Mathiatis (Cyprus) were investigated. In order to assess the pollution in the area, both soil and water samples were collected. More specifically, three water samples were taken from the crater lake and one from the mine pit above the level of the crater lake.
